Hakka Time! – Lin Garden

Lin Garden Chicken Pakora

Chinese cuisine collides head on with Indian flavor and style!  Indian-Hakka style cuisine originated from southeastern regions of China and has since then been perfected in India where the approach of cooking is similar to traditional Chinese cooking but with a spicy kick!

The results of this unique blend of cultures is a great variety of spicy or non spicy platters and includes a great selection of vegetarian dishes served up with generous portions that will satisfy your cravings.  Though takeout seems to be the popular mode of clientele (10% off) Lin Garden provides a quaint 70’s décor eating atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. Lin Garden is a gem of a restaurant that will work hard to satisfy your hunger without hurting your wallet.

  1. The chicken pakora is a must!

The Manchurian chicken was too spicy for me.

    • The food is good but the waiting times are outrageous – well over 1 hour on Friday evenings!

Also, the owner who just sits behind the counter is pretty rude. I asked for a receipt (which they never provide) and he looked at me like I had 2 heads. I insisted, and finally got the receipt, after another 10 minutes.

      • Ha!

I just had Lin Garden tonight! The owners were a bit sleepy and timid but they weren’t rude at all. I think they do get a bit flustered when it gets really busy (Fridays).

Do you call ahead with your take-out order or do you place your order when you get there?

  3. Lin Garden has some amazing dishes like chili chicken, manchurian chicken, pakoras, and spicy green beans to name a few. You really shouldnt go here expecting great service like most resturants. The owners and staff treat you like they would treat their distant relatives who unexpectedly show up at the door step looking for a place to stay for the week.(best way to describe). This place is a must for anybody who loves uniquely spicy food. Say hi to Mary for me if you do go.
