Who doesn’t love a retro themed diner that’s open 24 hours? Fran’s Restaurant was established in 1940 and has been a chain restaurant with 2 locations downtown Toronto and one in Hamilton. As of today there’s only one location left and it’s nestled on the corner of College and Yonge. Enjoy all day breakfast and giant waffles or tasty pancakes! If breakfast isn’t your thing go for the burgers or steak.
Be aware though, Fran’s is said to be haunted between the hours of 2 and 3am where the ghost of pianist Glenn Gould comes in and sits at the same booth for his regular order of scrambled eggs.

Photo by Melesky: This is a very well known 24 hour diner. The food is OK, pretty typical greasy spoon fare. It's an interesting place to people watch. Dave and I woke up hungry one day at 4 AM and went there and we had fun picking out which people had been up all night vs the ones that got up early. We think they were mostly all nighters.

Photo by: Smaku: After all-nighters it's usually a good thing to replenish your body with some good old fashioned greasy grub. Fran's diner is open 24 hours and has some great grub. After sitting down at our table, these set of tables here quickly filled up with about 8 police officers all off-duty coming to get their morning breakfast.

theres a Fran’s right under Pantages Hotel across from the Eaton Centre
Yes its right next to massey hall
Love frans too !
Is that location 24 hours too?
The real question is, are all Fran’s Restaurants haunted?
Fran’s is good, but I also love the brunch at Oliver & Bonacini at Bayview Village.
