This lively delicatessen on the corner of College and Brunswick Avenue is the ideal destination for any die hard smoked meat aficionado. Boasting a menu that hints at Kosher roots, Caplansky’s can sate your cravings for anything from a smoked meat sandwich to a thick burger to sweet treats.

Every table in this eclectically decorated deli is equipped with at least three different types of mustard to perfectly complement your menu selection; whether you’ve chosen beef, turkey, chicken or liver. Make sure to look out for the daily specials which may include their in-house butternut squash soup which, in my opinion is to die for.

The busy staff is quite welcoming and although the place is usually buzzing with patrons, they will attend to your every need. Visits in the evening are often marked with live accordion music showcasing a repertoire from classical to the Super Mario Brothers theme. This was a truly enjoyable experience all round – the food, the atmosphere and the staff – and comes highly recommended!

The fries were pretty fantastic as well!
