Every year I suddenly remember the little part of Toronto called the Danforth and make the subway ride over to enjoy amazing Greek food, wine, and fun.
Did you know that the GTA lays claim to more than 200,000 residents of Greek ancestry, the third largest Hellenic community outside of Greece?
Join me (and a few 1,000 of my closest friends) on August 7th and August 9th, 2009 for the Taste of the Danforth!

Friday August 7th – 6pm to midnight – Opening Ceremonies at 9pm
Saturday August 8th – noon to midnight
Sunday August 9th – noon to 8pm

Parking:
There are limited spaces at Green P parking lots on the north side of the Danforth and between Broadview and Jones. Cars may be ticketed and towed if parked illegally so your best bet might be to ride the TTC.

There’s supposed to be a Rock climbing wall too, “Mount Olympus”.
It’s Greektown at the busiest time of the year…streets filled with people and packed with cars…maybe it’s a good time to go watch a movie.

The best place to park is near Pape station. Avoid the crowds and you’ll only have a brisk walk back to your car when you’re ready to go home.

Just got back from the Danforth…crazy, busy tonight! Only made it to 2 subway stops before we went into a restaurant and ate. I usually go during the day and it’s not as crowded. I think I’ll stick to that plan next year!

I hope there’s enough food today. I didn’t get a chance to go last night. I heard parking was terrible and traffic is insane going down the DVP right now.
