Tilapia Asparagus

Omega 3 fatty acid deficiency anyone?  Everyone should try have fish at least once a week and here’s a great way to start.  Tilapia is a high source of Omega 3’s and protein and is a significantly cheaper alternative to the more popular Salmon.

Add the grilled asparagus for some much needed fibre and colour to your meal.

1 or 2 tilapia fillets
3 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoons butter (1 for fish and 1 for asparagus)
salt and pepper
4 lemon slices
1/3 cup white wine


1.  Wash the fish and season with salt and pepper.
2.  Heat the oil in frying pan and then melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
3.  Place the tilapia in the pan and fry each side gently until light golden brown.
4.  Place cooked tilapia on serving plate
5.  Saute the  garlic and 1 tablespoon of butter in the same fish pan
6.  Add white wine and stir the sauce around and bring to a low simmer
7.  Add lemon slices and pour the pan contents over the fish.
