Herb & Cheddar Crumb Pork Chops – Recipe

Herb & Cheddar Pork Chops

Found a great recipe from the Sobey’s “Inspired” food magazine for daily cooking and grocery shopping and I thought I’d share it all with you guys.   The pork chops are recommended for a  Wednesday meal but I’m sure it doesn’t really make a difference :P

Per pork chop – 290 calories (approx. $4.07)

Prep time:  10 mins
Total time: 20 mins
Serves 4

Ingredients:

125 ml plain dried bread crumbs
60 ml shredded cheddar cheese
5 ml finely chopped fresh rosemary
30 ml honey Dijon dressing
15 ml vegetable oil
4 bone in fast pork loin chops
1 ml salt and 1 ml pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat broiler, combine bread crumbs, cheese, and rosemary.
2. Drizzle honey Dijon dressing and mix
3. Heat oil in oven proof skillet set over medium high heat.
4. Season pork chops with salt & pepper, then add to hot pan.
5. Cook on one side for 2 minutes or until golden.
6. Remove pan from the heat and quickly press the crumb mixture onto the uncooked side of the each pork chop.
7. Transfer o the center rack of the oven and broil for 4 minutes or until crumb topping is golden and the chops are just slightly pink in the center.

Recommended: Serve with mashed potatoes and apple sauce!
ENJOY!
