What’s Mangosteen?

Mangosteen fruit (or purple mangosteen) is a local delicacy of Southeast Asia where it’s also known as the “Queen of Fruits” by the natives. ┬áMangosteen ripens only twice a year and is causing some health buzz as being loaded with taste and medical benefits such as our favourite Antioxidants.

Our friends at Xango will tell us more about their premium, functional mangosteen products such as XanGo Juice and much more.

Wellness organization Xango has created numerous healthy products to help us enhance our daily lives and enrich our well being.

  2. If you ever go to Asia in the Spring (May-June) or Summer / Fall, mangosteen is inexpensive, sweet, and juicy. It’s slightly harder to find in Toronto and even then might not compare in terms of taste! Also try out the dubbed king of fruits: durian. =)

    • Is Mangosteen supposed to be the new pomegranate or something?

I read an article about how the mangosteen peoeple claim that it cures cancers and that they’re being chased by the FDA to stop making these claims.

      • I’m highly skeptical that it has an ability to cure cancer but I wouldn’t count out the health benefits it may provide. I mean, how many fruits and veggies do we know DOESN’T do something good to us (boost our immune system, help digestion, etc.) On a similar note, I’d stick to the old saying of keeping a balanced, nutritious diet, mangosteen or no mangosteen.
