Loblaw buys out T&T

Canadian Supermarket giant continues to grow with the purchase of the T&T Asian grocery stores with $225 million dollar offer.

T&T shareholders who at the moment are managing 17 chain stores nationwide have agreed to be acquired by Loblaws Incorporated.   T&T Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cindy Lee describes her feeling to be proud and excited about this acquisition that truly recognizes the hard work and dedication of all T&T employees throughout the years.   “With the strong backing of Loblaw and the commitment of our employees, we look forward to continued growth and effectively serving Asian food to even more families across Canada.”

Loblaw Executive Chairman Galen Weston is delighted with the purchase and mentions “T&T’s talented management team and colleagues have developed what we believe are the best Asian stores in Canada, which will be used to help Loblaw extend its ethnic offering to better serve Canada’s largest growing customer segment”


T&T has been operating since 1993 and now manages stores in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta as well as 4 distribution centres.  T&T supermarkets features many unique blend of different Asian foods products ranging from Japan, Hong Kong, China,  Taiwan, Thailand, and other Asian countries.
