Calorie Counts on Menu’s Coming to a Restaurant Chain Near You?

milkshakeI just read an interesting article from Time Magazine. Apparently, we may see the number of calories our favorite food chains have on each item printed on their menu’s very soon.

This would personally save me a lot of time looking up the number of calories my favorite chain restaurants have on thier food choices. Many chain restaurants currently offer their calorie counts online. I personally have sworn off hot chocolate ever since I found out how many calories are in a small, non-fat, no whip small. Basically, I could have had a chocolate bar!

Thanks to a link from Time’s article to the ‘Top 10 worst Fast-food options’ I have now also sworn off McDonald’s chocolate shakes (over 1,200 calories!!!). Never again.

For those of you who don’t know how many calories you should be eating an average adult woman should be consuming 1,500-1,800 a day to maintain her weight and if you want to shed a few pounds try 1,200-1,500 a day. If you eat one of those chocolate shakes, that’s pretty much all you’ll be eating for the day!

  1. Having the TOTAL calories beside all the menu items would be so helpful. Why can’t they do it sooner?
