Ice Coffee drinks cause cancer?

Ice Frap

Iced coffee drinks might do a  little more than giving you that cool caffeine fix,  according to some research done by the World Cancer Research Fund drinks such as Frappuccinos and Iced Caps may detrimental to your health.

The reason behind this claim is the massive amounts of calories that are consumed when drinking these delicious sugar loaded cocktails.  On average we intake over 300+ calories per regular sized drink.

Obesity is the second leading cause of Cancer behind smoking and these coffee drinks blow our daily calorie intake out of the water.   The average daily calories consumed by females  should be 2000 and for men it’s 2500.

What’s really scary is that people drink these regularly as snacks when it could easily be a full meal with the amount of calories you consume.   These iced coffee drinks should really be an occasional treat and not a mid afternoon ritual.

Here are your most high profile suspects:

Tim Hortons Ice Caps: 360 Calories
(small, cream)

Starbucks Fraps: 301 calories
(Vendi Coffee)

Mcdonalds Ice Coffee: 220
(regular cream)

  1. What I like to do is ask for MILK rather than CREAM in my Iced Cap…this cuts the calories in half and then some!

Tim Hortons Ice Caps: 150 Calories
    (small, milk)

For a real treat I’ll get it made with CHOCOLATE MILK for only 10 calories more!

  2. I’m a bit weary about those calorie counts on the Timmie’s webpage.

The Ice Caps taste too good to be only 160 – 300 calories.
