What’s old is new again at the eighth-annual event
TORONTO — A new location, new hours and the latest trends in new cocktails will highlight Toronto’s hottest, sexiest summer party, The Drinks Show. The city’s sexiest mixologists and the best dance music from Toronto’s Z103.5 combine to make The Drinks Show, voted by BizBash as one of the top 10 Toronto events, a must on your social calendar.
“The Drinks Show is the only interactive cocktail show in the world,” says Russell Hoffman, general manager of show organizer Fulcrum Media Inc. “You can watch how a professional mixologist makes your favourite drinks. Our handy recipe app, cards and booklets will tell you how to make the drinks yourself so you can add some pizzazz to your own parties.”
The eighth edition of the event will be highlighted by several changes and new additions, not the least of which is a new location.
In the heart of Toronto’s vibrant gallery district and Queen West, 99 Sudbury is the perfect venue to host The Drinks Show.
“We are The Drinks Show, but we are also about social responsibility,” says Hoffman. “99 Sudbury is not only a great space, but it is also easily accessible by public transit. We want people to enjoy themselves, and we want them to get home safely.”
Fulcrum Media will once again be partnering with The Martini Club to make The Drinks Show a memorable party to kick off the summer.
“We’ll have close to 100 hand-crafted cocktails, gorgeous bartenders and the perfect mix of cool house, dance and hip hop sounds,” says Sabrina Greer, head mixologist at The Martini Club. “All the pieces that make a party great —beats that move your body, fabulous drinks and beautiful eye candy — will be found at The Drinks Show.”
Other highlights of this year’s event include:
· A Whisky Cocktail Competition & Whisky Challenge open to all
· Chance to win airfare for two anywhere in the world, courtesy of It’s My Solo Cup
· Complete recipe booklets to recreate all of your favourite cocktails at home
· New brands and drinks previously unavailable in Ontario
“Some of these brands are not only new to The Drinks Show, they are also new to the LCBO,” says Greer. “These are spirits that are entirely new to this market, and the people at The Drinks Show will be among the first to try them as they are establishing their brand in Ontario.”
