Men Can Cook 2009 is Here!

On Sunday, August 30, 2009 celebrated chefs, community leaders and local celebrities take to the grill for Men Can Cook, a community benefit for the Alexandra Park Community Centre.

Celebrity chefs will compete for the title of King of the Grill during a competition for Best Barbecue Sauce. The winner will receive the coveted “Golden Apron” and praise from an eager crowd of burger enthusiasts!

Mentionable Guests:

  • Dwight Drummond (anchor, CityTV)
  • Mark Strong (entertainment personality)
  • Adam Vaughan (Toronto City Councillor)
  • Master T (host, Master T TV)
  • Carl Cassell (owner of Irie and Harlem restaurants)
  • Ron Nelson (radio personality) will “man the fire”

Held at Toronto’s Alexandra Park (275 Bathurst St., southeast corner of Bathurst St./Dundas St. West), Men Can Cook features a neighbourhood cookout, Kids Zone, marketplace featuring local vendors and live performances from celebrated acts, including SoulSteel Orchestra, Izlamic and Natasha Waterman.

    • Just look at the Iron Chef panel of chefs and judges… 🙂 I think the difference is Man cook with passion, woman cook with heart. Two different flavours!

      • Women could be just as passionate when they cook and men can be all heartfelt when they BBQ…. It all depends on the chef 😛

    • Well American Iron Chef have a women Chef. However, I don’t think she’s been challenged that often.
