The Toronto Underground Market (TUM) is a social food market for the community to sample the food of Toronto home cooks. It is a venue for budding entrepreneurs to showcase their products. These vendors are not necessarily chefs, although some will be. This is a new kind of community market; not a farmer’s market, or a food festival, but something completely unique and new to Toronto.

The driving force behind the TUM is my sheer amazement at the wealth of delicious, professional quality food being made in home kitchens. The TUM will provide an opportunity to let the broader community taste this delicious food that would otherwise only be consumed by friends and family.

Tickets to come eat, drink and enjoy at the Toronto Underground Market are $5. All of the TUM events will be at the Evergreen Brick Works. We are so thrilled about our venue we are donating 5% of our proceeds back into the charity.

A Bigger Celebration for the Smaller Farms

This Halloween,  Chipotle is celebrating family farms and their dedication to the land they live on and the delicious food they produce. To join in on the party, head into any Chipotle on Halloween from 6 pm to closing dressed in a costume inspired by the family farm and they’ll hook you up with a burrito, bowl, salad, or an order of tacos made with responsibly raised ingredients for just $2.

Have some fun with your costumes. Think crops, farm tools, tractors, silos, or farm animals. Get the proverbial creative juices flowing and you might have a shot at winning a prize in the Costume Contest.

Hot & Spicy Food Festival highlights culinary hot spots, paying close attention to important issues of modern food movements and burgeoning gastronomic scenes. We spotlight the rise of hot culinary neighbourhoods and feature a favourite summer pastime, the BBQ.

International and national chefs and artists converge during this one weekend to demonstrate the freshness found in both tradition and contemporary innovation. Expect a festival full of fiery performances for all the senses!

The East Scarborough Festival Market is going strong in it’s fifth year with rave reviews and support form the community. The Festival Market has become a safe place for residents to mingle and socialize and quickly turned into an integral event of summer to which people look forward each week with great anticipation.

Toronto’s favourite street festival has a whole new way to celebrate the fun flavours of Greece and summer in the city.

Every year in August, the city of Toronto flocks to GreekTown on the Danforth. Celebrating its 17th year, the Pilaros Taste Of The Danforth is Canada’s largest street festival, welcoming over 1.2 million visitors.

A Decima Research poll indicated that 90% of respondents identified “The Taste” as their favourite GTA festival event — beating out such iconic events as the Toronto International Film Festival, Caribana and Pride Week. Last summer the Pilaros Taste Of The Danforth won two Toronto Sun Reader’s Choice Awards: a Gold for Favourite Community Festival and a Silver for Favourite Summer Festival.
